Joseph Maviglia, internationally known poet, musician and essayist from Canada, is coming to California to launch his new book, “Critics Who Know Jack: Urban Myths, Media and Rock & Roll” in the United States (Guernica Editions Inc., spring release).

Joseph Maviglia has written four collections of poetry, “Movietown”1989, “A God Hangs Upside down” (Guernica Editions, 1994, Toronto, Ontario), “Winter Jazz” (Quarry Poetry Books, 1998, Kingston, Ontario) and ‘Freakin’ Palomino Blue” (Mosaic Press, Oakville Ontario, 2002) and his poetry has appeared widely in anthologies in both North America and Europe.

As a singer-songwriter his music can be heard on “Memory to Steel” (full length CD poetry and music) and on the CD “Angel in the Rain” (Rain Angel Music, Inc., 2010) copies of which will be available at the ShapeShifter events.
